Our Story

Built by Nomads,
For Nomads

We're a small team of remote workers who believed that real, honest advice should be free β€” so we built it.

How NomadTravelLife Began

NomadTravelLife was born in 2021 on a rainy afternoon in a Chiang Mai coworking space. Our founder, James Park, was in his third year of remote work and kept answering the same questions from friends who wanted to make the leap: Which cities are actually affordable? Which visas won't take a year to get? Which coworking spaces don't just look good on Instagram?

He started a simple newsletter to document what he was learning. Three months later, 1,200 people were subscribed. Two years after that, NomadTravelLife had a team of 6 writers across 4 continents, and over 18,000 nomads reading us every week.

We don't take shortcuts. Every city guide is written by someone who has lived there. Every coworking review is from someone who worked there. We're nomads writing for nomads.

What We Stand For

01

Honesty First

We don't promote places we wouldn't live in. Every recommendation is genuine. If a city has real problems for nomads, we'll say so β€” even if it's a popular destination.

02

Practical Over Pretty

Beautiful photos are nice. Actionable information that helps you plan your move is better. We write for people who are actually packing their bags, not just daydreaming.

03

Community Powered

Our best content comes from our readers. Real experiences beat marketing copy every time. We amplify the voices of our 18,000-strong community whenever we can.
